Acclaimed composer and conductor, Huang Qiuyuan, was born and raised in Shanwei of Guangdong, a province rich in traditional folk music styles. Huang owes his musical inspiration to the liveliness and elegance of Guangdong folk music. Music is not the only area in which Huang Qiuyuan has found success though, as he is also an accomplished artist, with many of his calligraphy paintings having been commissioned and collected by important organizations and museums. Despite being two different mediums, his music and artworks are both ways for this artistic soul to express his feelings and emotions, and maintain a connection to his youth.
